Privacy Policy

AutomateBake is software that custom cake bakeries use to receive order requests, send quotes, and book orders. This policy explains what information we handle, why, and the choices you have. Questions? Email automatebake@gmail.com.
Who is responsible for your information
If you're a customer asking a bakery for a cake, the bakery decides how your information is used. AutomateBake stores and processes it on the bakery's behalf so they can reply to you, quote, and book your order. For questions about your order, contact the bakery directly. We'll help them with any request you make.
If you run a bakery that uses AutomateBake, we are responsible for your account information.
What we collect
From customers, through a bakery's request form or proposal
- Your name, email address, and phone number (if you give it).
- Event details: occasion, date, guest count, location or delivery address, flavor and style preferences, your answers to the bakery's questions, and any notes you write.
- The time you agreed to be contacted, when you tick the box on the form.
- When you accept a proposal: the name you type as your signature, the date and time, and your IP address, as a record of the agreement.
- When you decline a proposal: the reason, if you give one. The bakery sees it.
- When you send a request: a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address, used only to block spam and repeated submissions. It's deleted after about 2 days.
From bakeries
- The email address of each owner and staff member, used to log in, and when and from what IP address they log in (kept by our login provider for security).
- Bakery details: name, logo, brand color, time zone, price list, policies, and booking limits.
- The quotes, proposals, and orders the bakery creates.
We don't collect payment details. Customers pay bakeries directly, outside AutomateBake.
How we use it
- To show a bakery the requests sent to it, and to let it quote, send proposals, and book orders.
- To show customers their proposal and record their acceptance or decline.
- To send service emails, such as login links and notices to a bakery about new requests and answered proposals.
- To keep the service secure and prevent spam and abuse.
We don't sell personal information, use it for advertising, or share one bakery's information with another bakery. AutomateBake doesn't currently use artificial intelligence to process your information. If that changes, we'll update this policy first.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers to run AutomateBake. They handle information only to provide their service to us:
- Supabase: database and login.
- Vercel: website hosting.
- Resend: sending email.
- Google Fonts: the fonts on this website, which your browser downloads from Google.
A bakery's logo may be loaded from a website the bakery chooses, so that website can see that your browser requested it.
We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public.
Cookies
We use cookies only to keep bakery owners and staff logged in. Customers don't need an account, and we don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
How long we keep it
We keep a bakery's requests, quotes, and orders while the bakery uses AutomateBake, so it has a record of its orders. Spam-prevention records are deleted after about 2 days. When a bakery stops using AutomateBake, we delete its information when it asks, or within a reasonable time.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct, or delete your information. Customers can ask the bakery or email us at automatebake@gmail.com and we'll pass the request to the bakery and help with it. Depending on where you live, you may have other rights under local law. We'll honor them.
Security
Information is sent over encrypted connections (https). Each bakery's information is kept separate, so one bakery can never see another's. Proposal links are long and random, and a proposal can't be accepted after it expires. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will tell affected users if a breach happens.
Children
AutomateBake isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. For important changes, we'll notify bakeries by email.
